"I am not just a trauma-informed provider but also a certified clinical trauma specialist and will provide a safe environment for you to move through your healing journey."

Riane Dawson

GET TO KNOW RIANE DAWSON LPC, CCTSI (SHE/HER)

I am a 2nd generation  BIPOC/LGBTQIA+ affirming Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years’ experience in behavioral health. I specialize in working with adults, emerging adults, and families struggling with trauma responses, depression, anxiety, cultural issues, relationships, crisis management, and difficult life adjustments.

My goal is to assist you in finding YOUR voice, learning new tools for daily self-regulation, and not just to “cope” through crisis. While working with me, you will learn how to connect back with your body and how to meet your needs to manage emotional messages and change behaviors. I implement a bottom-up approach where we listen to our body messages first before attempting to tackle negative thought patterns. I am not just a trauma-informed provider, but also a certified clinical trauma specialist and will provide one of the safest environments for you to move through your healing journey.

I utilize several modalities and interventions and tailor each treatment plan to match your individual needs.

Many times, trauma holds us back from who we really are or from goals we want to achieve. My role is to provide a safe, calm, and empowering space to take those first steps together; you are not alone.

Fun Facts

Riane is married and has a blended family with 6 children from middle school age to early adults. The majority of the kids are competitive athletes in soccer (aka football), American football, track, and basketball. Riane's spirit animal is a mermaid, so she utilizes any body of water (preferably the beach) to engage in self-care recharge every few months. She is originally from NYC and went to the "Fame" high school as an art major. So along with being a New Yorker and also having an anxious nervous system, she tends to have rapid thoughts and can speak very quickly when excited (which she is aware of and works on daily so please slow her words down if needed)!
